For years, Giselle ran her restaurant, The Juice Pharm, while I managed my rental properties and New London Cafe in Duluth, Minnesota. We raised our kids, kept busy with our daily routines, and told ourselves that someday we’d embark on family adventures and explore the world. However, that someday never seemed to arrive.
So, we made the decision that scared us the most. We sold the restaurant, sold the house, gave away nearly everything that wouldn't fit in a bag, and bought one-way tickets.
Since then, we’ve embraced a life of moving slow and living small. Our journey began in Nicaragua, on a volcano in the middle of a lake, before we made our way to Mexico and then to the islands of southern Thailand. Along the way, we focus on providing our kids with educational opportunities and cultural experiences, all while filming the honest version of our life—capturing both the hard mornings and the joyful moments.
Growing By Going isn’t just a travel show; it’s a record of our family choosing the unknown on purpose. We trust that the experiences we gather while going are where we truly grow, and we continually share our travel tips to inspire others to embark on their own journeys.
